November Employee of the Month - Katharine Petterson
November 18, 2024
We are pleased to announce our November 2024 Employee of the Month is Katharine Petterson, Office Supervisor, Hunterdon Behavioral Health
Here are just a few highlights from Kate’s nominations:
Kate’s accountability goes beyond expectations. When assigned a project, she follows through from start to finish. She took on the project of updating our New Jersey Administrative Code manuals, which included seven core manuals and seven books for our doctors and directors. This was a painstakingly intensive process of making sure she had the proper information, methods, and procedures. This project would have taken weeks to accomplish, and she had it completed within seven days.
Kate’s adaptive behavior comes with her ability to assist others with questions with a positive and helpful attitude, including myself, who is fairly new to Hunterdon Medical Center. She was always willing to coach me in the right direction and find answers. She is this way with everyone in our department. Kate focuses on your issue and comes up with a solution no matter how busy she is.
Authenticity is deeply in-bred in Kate. She welcomes each employee and client with a smile and warmness that makes Hunterdon Behavioral Health a great place to work. Her energy and positive attitude is contagious. She never lets turmoil dictate her behavior and always conquers the day with her positive energy.
Kate’s ability to include all new methods and procedures is commendable. Our department recently went through a change with co-pays and Kate (even though it is not her job to take co-pays) focused on the process, learned it, and could share the information with her colleagues. This is just one example of her learning and sharing her knowledge.
Kate is committed to excellence and making sure we "do it right the first time." She commits herself to jumping into a position when we are short-staffed without being asked. When she recognizes that someone is falling behind, she is right there, ready and able to assist. She is committed to running our department professionally and focused on ensuring our clients are number one.
Kate is an empowered employee who takes control, when control is needed and has the respect and confidence of her peers to adopt new behaviors that further their individual aspirations.
If you ask any of Kate’s peers what kind of employee she is, they would most likely say that she is the best of the best. Our directors, therapists, doctors, and employees would all attest to this nomination.
