This October, Hunterdon Health Foundation proudly partnered with the Main Street Half Marathon of Hunterdon to raise $30,000 in support of local cancer care. Nearly 500 walkers and runners joined us on October 20th, bringing heartfelt commitment and energy to our scenic courses, all in the spirit of making high-quality cancer treatment available close to home at Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center.
The race weekend began on Saturday, October 19th, with families arriving at the Red Mill Museum Village in Clinton to pick up their race packets and gear up for the next day. A handful of eager young racers also got their chance to participate, zipping through the Red Mill in colorful costumes as part of our Superhero Sprint, a spirited kickoff for a weekend centered on community support.
On Sunday, participants arrived ready to make every mile count. Walkers and runners parked at Hunterdon Medical Center and were bussed to their starting lines, thanks to our transportation sponsor, University Radiology Group. Runners set off from Main Street in Clinton, while walkers began their route from a starting line on Kiceniuk Road, proudly sponsored by Hunterdon Anesthesia Associates. Our scenic new course led all participants to Hunterdon Medical Center, and throughout the way, staff and providers from Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center cheered, hydrated, and inspired every step of the journey with help of our water stop sponsor, Princeton Radiation Oncology.
This annual event goes beyond the miles covered—it’s about supporting a Cancer Center that brings the best in cancer treatment to our community, sparing families the need to travel to larger cities for world-class care. Several dedicated physician teams joined us, including Hunterdon Podiatric Medicine, Pegasus Emergency Group, Hunterdon Anesthesia Associates, and Hunterdon Urological Associates, showing that our local healthcare providers are more than caregivers—they’re neighbors and friends committed to building a healthier, stronger community.
As racers crossed the finish line at Hunterdon Medical Center, they were welcomed into a lively celebration filled with music from local band The Big Fuss. Sunken Silo Brew Works served craft beer, and Pudgy’s Famous Fries food truck offered breakfast sandwiches and fries, adding to the festive atmosphere. Family, friends, and community supporters filled the area, cheering on every finisher and celebrating the day’s success in support of a cause that brings our community together.
We’re especially grateful to all of our sponsors and volunteers, whose generosity and hard work made this event possible. Thanks to their support, we’re able to ensure the best in cancer care is accessible to those we love, right here at home.
