On Saturday, October 5th, 42 pickleball players gathered at Bundt Park in Clinton, New Jersey for an Intermediate Mixed Doubles Tournament to benefit cancer care in our community. Sponsored by Cortes and Hay Title Agency, Courtside Racquet Club, and the Clinton Township Recreation Department, the event brought together players and spectators for a day of friendly competition and community spirit.
Four pools of round-robin matches were held with the top two teams from each pool advancing to the playoffs. During the lunch break, a special moment highlighted the event’s purpose: a $2,500 check was presented to Hunterdon Health Foundation to support women in the community battling breast cancer, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
After an exciting series of matches, Kelly Arvidson and Patrick Ryan took home the gold medal. Elisangela Harrington and Mark Lim earned the silver, while Kristy Detore and Chris Scalzo won the bronze.
The tournament ended with plenty of smiles and a sense of accomplishment for all involved—knowing that their time on the courts helped make a difference for a meaningful cause.
