A dedicated cardio-oncology clinic allows cancer patients and survivors to be screened and, when needed, treated for specific cardiac diseases associated with their cancer and/or treatment. Using state-of-the-art 3-D technology, specially trained cardiologists can prevent, reduce, and possibly even reverse the cardiac damage. For more information call 908-788-1710.

• A Family Risk Assessment Program (FRAP) evaluation could benefit patients if they or anyone in their family has been diagnosed with cancer before the age of 50.

• The Center for Nutrition and Diabetes Management is committed to providing quality nutrition education and counseling services to people in our community. Specially trained physical and occupational therapists in our Oncology Rehabilitation Center are available to develop a therapeutic exercise program to address the physical and emotional side effects patients may experience at any time along the cancer continuum related to their diagnosis and/or treatment, including pain, fatigue, weakness, swelling, lymphedema and limited range of motion. The Center for Advanced Pain Management offers patients a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to chronic pain using a variety of interventional and medical treatments as well as physical and complementary therapies. For more information call (908) 788-6410.

Palliative care provides relief from the symptoms, pain, and stress of a serious illness, no matter what the diagnosis. It is appropriate at any age and at any stage in a serious illness and can be provided along with curative treatment. The goal is to improve the quality of life for both the patient and the family.
