Partners In Healing is a group of cancer survivors who volunteer to provide peer support to patients currently undergoing cancer treatment. These men and women receive specialized training to enhance their communication and listening skills.
The objective of this volunteer program is to match a Partners In Healing volunteer with a patient who has a similar diagnosis or who is in similar circumstances. Volunteers visit with patients at Hunterdon Medical Center, outpatients at Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center, and provide support via telephone.
Patients may request a visit from a Partners In Healing volunteer through their physician, oncology social worker, nurse or any other staff at Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center.
