Speech & Hearing Center
One out of every ten Americans, or more than 22.6 million people, experience some kind of speech, language or hearing disorder. These impairments result in constant daily challenges. The Speech & Hearing Center provides evaluation and treatment of many communication disorders.
The Speech & Hearing Center offers:
- Expert Staff: Our licensed audiologists and speech-language pathologists hold certificates of clinical competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and work with both adults and children.
- Hearing Services: We offer audiological evaluations, including hearing aid evaluations.
- Speech Services: We provide care and treatment for voice and swallowing disorders, stuttering, and more.
- Newborn Screenings: We screen every baby born at Hunterdon Medical Center, as part of the universal newborn screening program. This hearing screening helps to diagnose hearing loss; early detection of hearing loss is essential for the development of normal speech and language skills.
