A. All applicants must have passing scores on the USMLE or COMLEX exam Part I (and Part II if taken). Applicants must have graduated within the preceding 5 years and have clinical experience within a hospital in the U.S. within the preceding 12 months.
A. We recognize that occasionally an applicant may have a “bad day.” Obviously the greater the number of attempts needed to pass any exam the lesser the chances for successfully matching into our program.
A. No. The criteria are the same for all applicants. International graduates must meet all requirements of the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) and will need an ECFMG certificate prior to the match, but not for the interview process.
A. We do not sponsor visas. You must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident (hold a “green card”).
A. Our goal is to have applicants who are current in their medical training and who have a U.S. physician able to comment on their clinical care. The only exceptions to these requirements are when someone has been enrolled in a residency program or in clinical practice in that time interval.
A. We do not sponsor observerships or externships. Medical students currently enrolled in allopathic or osteopathic schools can apply for clerkship or elective experiences.
A. We do not select applicants to fit a particular profile. Our goal is to find individuals who we believe can work well in our program.
A. Each year we receive hundreds of applications through ERAS and many more telephone inquiries. Ultimately we will rank approximately 75 applicants for our six positions.
A. Only applications through ERAS are accepted.
A. We rarely request an applicant to send additional materials. Please do not send additional materials unless specifically requested. Materials not requested will not be reviewed.
A. December 31st.
