Yes. Physicals, evaluations, and other Occupational Health Services are provided by appointment only. For injury care, our Occupational Health Staff asks that clients call prior to sending an injured worker to our facility for medical treatment.

An employer authorization form is required for all employee visits. The purpose of this form is to give Hunterdon Health authorization to provide occupational health care to our clients. Before providing a service, we ask that the employer complete this form and either fax it to Occupational Health Services at 908-788-6698 or send it with the employee.

Employees must provide a valid photo ID such as a Driver’s License.
The Emergency Room (ER) needs to be an option for your employees in emergent situations, but it doesn’t always need to be the first option. Please see the image to help you better understand when to go to an ER or Urgent Care Center.
Yes. Occupational Health Services can evaluate an employee’s injury, develop a treatment plan, and establish work accommodations when it is appropriate. They will also supply information to the workers’ compensation insurance carrier to assist in the administration of your claim as well as keep your employer advised of the status of your injury.

If an employee injury requires x-rays, Hunterdon Health offers convenient access to this diagnostic service through our Urgent Care Center which is located in the same building as Occupational & Corporate Health Services at 63 Church Street. Follow-up appointments can be arranged with the Occupational Health Services staff.
To ensure the safety of the employee and testing personnel, a designated employer representative must accompany an employee sent for reasonable suspicion or post-accident testing and remain at the collection site to transport the employee back to their workplace.
A primary care provider (or physician) manages an individual’s overall care and communicates with specialists as needed. A PCP partners with their patients, working together in the office and in-between visits to coordinate overall care to help individuals maintain good health and overall quality of life.

Preventive Health Care is Covered by Insurance
In the past, some people skipped preventive care visits because they were not covered by insurance. However, insurance now covers your visit with your primary care doctor each year to be sure you can create and follow your own Wellness Plan. There is no co-pay or deductible for these office visits. (Call your health insurance plan to understand what preventive services are covered.) If you have a condition you want to address at a preventive care visit, there may be a separate charge.
