We have been providing training in CPR and First Aid since 1985. Established as an American Heart Association Training Center, we have consistently been awarded top scores as a center of excellence for course delivery, community training, and public access defibrillation management. We offer American Heart Association programs in Family & Friends CPR, Heartsaver CPR/AED, Heartsaver First Aid, Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid and CPR, and Basic Life Support, as well as Heartsaver and BLS Instructor courses. Learn to be a Babysitter for ages 11-15 is also offered. Our program also assists organizations in the deployment and ongoing management of Automated External Defibrillators (AED’s). Courses are offered year-round at our education center or possibly offsite at your office, daycare center, health club, etc. With over 60 trained instructors in the area, the Center for CPR provides easy access to training for people who live and work throughout Hunterdon County.
Course Completion: The CPR Training Center adheres to all requirements of the American Heart Association regarding course testing and completion.
Course Refunds: A $25 non-refundable deposit will be charged to guarantee a place in the class. A one-time transfer is accepted if received within 3 business days prior to the course date. Participants arriving more than 15 minutes late will be denied entry. There will be absolutely no transfers given for no-shows, late arrivals, or late cancellations.

What is it? The Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (HCP) Course is a video-based, Instructor-led course that teaches both single-rescuer and team basic life support. This course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED. BLS for Healthcare Providers teaches skills using the American Heart Association’s proven Practice-While-Watching technique, which allows Instructors to observe students, provide feedback and guide students’ acquisition of skills. With their student manual for the course, students receive the new Pocket Reference Card, designed to provide quick emergency information to the rescuer at any time.
Primary Audience: This course is for healthcare professionals who need to know how to perform CPR, as well as other lifesaving skills, in a wide variety of in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings.

What is it? Statistics show that 80% of sudden cardiac arrests occur outside the hospital; it can happen to anyone at any time. Through our Heartsaver CPR/AED Course, students will have the confidence and skills to respond to these emergencies. It is important that employers offer CPR and AED training for their employees to respond to a sudden cardiac arrest emergency.
Heartsaver CPR AED is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches adult CPR and AED use, as well as how to relieve choking on an adult. Optional modules include child CPR and AED use, infant CPR and child and infant choking.
Primary Audience: This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in CPR and AED use to meet job, volunteer, regulatory or other requirements.

It teaches child care providers and others to respond to and manage illnesses and injuries in a child or infant in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. The course covers the Four Steps of Pediatric First Aid and modules in Pediatric First Aid, Child/Infant CPR AED, Adult CPR AED, and Asthma Care Training.

What is it? Teaches the lifesaving skills of adult Hands-Only™ CPR, child CPR with breaths, adult and child AED use, infant CPR and relief of choking in an adult, child or infant. These topics can be presented together or taught separately as stand-alone modules. Skills are taught by using the American Heart Association’s research-proven practice-while-watching technique, which allows participants to practice on a CPR training manikin while skills are demonstrated in the course video.
Primary Audience: This course is for people who want to learn CPR but do not need a course completion card in CPR for their job. Almost 80% of sudden cardiac arrests happen in the home. 92% of victims don’t survive, often because people around them don’t take action and begin CPR. You can help change this statistic by learning the simple skills of CPR.
This course is ideal for schools and students, parents, grandparents, babysitters and others interested in learning how to save a life. This training is not appropriate for anyone looking for a certification.

What is it? Babysitters are trusted with the safety and welfare of a child in the absence of a parent or guardian. This course covers the skills necessary to help prepare for babysitting responsibilities.
Primary Audience: Youths 11 through 15 are at a critical stage in life where this responsibility signals a move toward managing mature and challenging tasks for themselves and others.
This popular program helps young adults learn childcare basics, safety and dealing with emergencies, managing to babysit as a business, first aid, and AHA Friends and Family CPR. The day is filled with fun exercises, demonstrations, and manikin practice. Students will receive a program guide and emergency information flashcards. Upon completion, students will also receive a course completion certificate.
