Hunterdon Medical Center’s Family Practice Residency Program is one of the oldest and most respected in the nation. The residency program is consistently successful in attracting the best and brightest medical students from the finest medical schools worldwide. Each year, a large percentage of Hunterdon Medical Center graduates choose to remain in the hospital’s service area. This has resulted in continuous renewal of the medical philosophy of the importance of primary care and sustained the unique synergy between the hospital and its specialists.
Students who are currently enrolled in medical school and are interested in shadowing a physician can contact the Family Practice Residency Program. We try our best to accommodate students when possible.

We often hear from Physician Assistant students who need clinical rotation hours towards their degree. We have limited opportunities for placement, but try our best to accommodate students when available. Priority is given to students who attend a school that Hunterdon Health has an existing clinical affiliation agreement. The schools that the hospital has a clinical affiliation agreement with are listed below. If you are a student at a school that is not on this list, you should talk to your school advisor about opportunities available for you through your college/university.
