With an undergraduate degree in chemical engineering from the University of Louisville, and then choosing to study medicine at St. George's University, Sunny has always considered himself to be a problem-solver. He chose family medicine primarily for the depth of the field, as well as for the long-term relationships primary care physicians build with their patients. After his residency at Baptist Health Deaconess, Sunny practiced primary care in Kentucky for nearly five years. During this time, however, he watched his mother’s dementia progressively worsen to the point she was enrolled in home hospice, and she eventually passed in December 2022. His uncle, also a home hospice patient, passed away just three weeks later. After some introspection, Sunny decided to pursue a career in hospice and palliative medicine, inspired by the compassionate care that the hospice teams provided to his family members. Board-certified in family medicine, Sunny is excited to be in New Jersey and treat the service area of Hunterdon Health, as he has family in Middlesex County. His outside interests include hiking, attending concerts, and watching sports.
