Shyama has always known she wanted to pursue family medicine. She believes the opportunity to build long-term relationships with patients and their families allows for a continuity of care that can significantly impact patients’ well-being. Family medicine allows the opportunity to work with people of all ages, providing education and engaging in shared decision-making to create unique care plans. This holistic approach fosters a deep understanding of each patient’s history through physical, emotional and social needs, enabling more personalized and effective healthcare. Shyama’s specific interests in medicine include sports medicine and integrative medicine. In her free time she enjoys staying active, cooking and spending time with her family and friends.
