Samantha began her nursing career as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in 2006. After completing her Associates Degree in Nursing, she joined Hunterdon Health in July 2008 as a staff nurse on Hunterdon Medical Center’s Medical Specialty Unit, 3 West. She has been in her current role as a Nurse Navigator at Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center since 2016.
Samantha became an Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) in 2018 and holds an additional certification in the administration of chemotherapy and biotherapy since 2017. Samantha completed Rutgers Tobacco Dependence Program - Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist Training in 2020. As part of her Nurse Navigation services Samantha offers tobacco cessation counseling and support to her patients.
She is currently an active member of the Academy of Oncology Nurse Navigators (AONN) and has been a member of the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) and the NJ Organization of Nurse Leaders (ONL).
As a population health advocate, lung cancer screening and lung cancer awareness has always been a passion. Samantha established Hunterdon Health’s Lung Cancer Prevention Work Group, working closely with Hunterdon’s Population Health Administrative Director, Rose Puelle, PhD, on this endeavor. This organization-wide task force is dedicated to Hunterdon Health’s mission and vision, providing support and education to improve the health of our community.
Throughout her nursing career Samantha has been an active member of Hunterdon Health’s Nursing Shared Governance Councils, having been a member of their Performance Improvement Council and Education Council.
