This event has been ongoing since 1986 and focuses on the light within each of us by acknowledging the light in others. This year-long event supplies the Auxiliary with funds that are utilized within the healthcare system as the need arises. Each year on the first Wednesday in December, Lights of Love celebrates donations made throughout the year that honor or memorialize people who have touched our lives in a special way. The Auxiliary also recognizes both the Hospital and Community Annual Lights of Love Awards Recipients during the ceremony.
What better way to honor or memorialize someone dear to your heart? Dedicating a light is a perfect way to:
honor a loved one's accomplishment, graduation, marriage, retirement, or anniversary.
honor someone who has made a difference in your life and your community.
memorialize the life of someone dear to you.
honor or memorialize a friend or family member as a gift for an upcoming birthday, Mother's Day, Father's Day, or Veteran's Day, the list can go on and on!

Countless people are striving to address the endless needs and injustices of our community and our world, impacting us all in a multitude of ways, seen and unseen. Each warrants our appreciation and admiration. Every year, in the month of December, the Hunterdon Health Auxiliary shall recognize outstanding people from two areas of our community with the Hunterdon Health Lights of Love Award. These two agents of change, one from within the Hunterdon Health Employee Community and one from the Hunterdon County Community shall be nominated to and selected by the Lights of Love Planning Committee. The deadline for nominations is September 6, 2024.
The Hunterdon Health Auxiliary will host its Annual Lights of Love Ceremony on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at 5:00 PM. The Hunterdon Health campus will be illuminated with lights, each representing gifts received from donors to honor or memorialize people who have touched their lives in a special way. As a new tradition, the Hunterdon Health Lights of Love Awards will be presented during the ceremony to recognize two outstanding individuals who have made a significant difference in the community.
